I live right under Prasiva hill in Beskydy. I see directly on the hill form my window.  There are always regular groups of paragliders hanging in the air over the hill when the stronger southern and southwest winds flow. Pilots  may have gone higher and then further into space for XC flights. Just maybe some do not know how to do it.

I would like to advise you,  if you want, how to realize XC flight with  a strong south or southwest wind. It’s drawn on a map. The orange rounds are the most common climbing thermal streams, and arrows mean flight options.

The main reason is, that because of the shape of hill and terrain around Prasive it is more advantageous in this wind to fly a little bit against the wind on the western rib from Cupel hill.

On the Cupel hill there is a terrain in front of the hill to create thermals more advantageous. Just wait there for the thermals and if nothing, you can simply go back to Prasiva hill. It’s a bit worse with the landing under Cupel hill.  So I recommend this variant to more experienced pilots.

Above  Velka Prasiva there is another more marked climbing thermal stream. Ftom here you can fly to Javorovy hill and Poland.

I would like to thank all of you who came to help on Saturday job at Prasiva. We did a lot of work and without you it could be done very stiff. Now I hope it will be more happy when the  grass grow and everything get greener. There is still a lot of work around the starting point but thanks to your help we are more close to our idea.

Preparation, implementation and maintenance, as well as with our other runways, finance largely from sources of El Speedo paragliding school. Only price realization, rent and maintenance for 10 years one of the resulting runway is around CZK 400,000.

Last year we managed to dig up all the stumps, cast down compare new take-off and sow grass. The end of March, most of the planting and grabbed ahead, further steps – we are going to the finals!

After the bulldozer left on the surface of many small stones. Not great, but a lot of them. The rains had washed them and pulled to the surface, we now have to pick up, this will require appropriate wheel buckets.

 It is necessary to clean these edges. On this job you will need shovels, pickaxes and rakes. Chainsaw can throw, 2 chainsaw there’ll be.

Other sowing grass
Nop and in the end even sieved place where the grass did not catch, the grass is very important, and solidified cast down the stones cease to climb to the surface. I have a 30 kg grass seeds, that’ll be easy.

What will still follow? In the near future we want to install benches, webcams, and edited meteosondu. All this would be pleased managed to mid-season.
