The Arentina and her always windy Andes – that was a challenge for which we really looked forward. We chose an approach from the north to the south, started in a small town Salta we gradually struggled all means of transport to Mendoza and a little further below.
On this expedition we had no big ambitions for a length of the flight. We didn´t want to rush, we wanted to enjoy the atmosphere of a bivouac flight and please our taste buds with a quality food and drinks. But it doesn´t mean that we came here to goof off.
The first day of flight, we managed to get into higher mountains unfortunately the ceiling around 4000 m didn´t allow us to jump over higher peaks. Besides the days sitting in a room because of a pouring rain, we also marched in a fog and slid in a mud into riverbeds swollen mountain streams. Then we were zigzagging across the valley, trying to dry up, which didn´t let us fly out high enough to leap over the 5000 m mountains and ridges. When we needed we took a bus, when we could fly, so we flew.
This event gave us a lot of exciting experiences with the windy Andes. And we would like to come back there one day again for sure.
