Pre-filled prices are approximate for El Speedo gliders without VAT, may vary by model.

How to fill the calculator correctly?

How much did you buy the glider?
Prices of new gliders are of course different. Each manufacturer has some of its business strategy, trying to encourage the expansion of its market, it must motivate any importers and downstream end-sellers. However, real production costs are very similar to all manufacturers. It is, therefore, that you can buy gliders at really different prices, and it is likely that others can buy them at similar prices. Regardless of the price of this or that model in the offer of some German schools.

We recommend that you begin calculating the actual amount for which you purchased your new glider. Otherwise, the whole other calculation is likely to be affected so much that it will not reflect the real situation on the paragliding market in your area.

Average life of the glider?
Manufacturers use different types of material. You should be able to tell this value to the manufacturer or the end-seller. Ask for an hourly life with average use (without towing on a winch, motor flying or acrobatics training) in a common Czech environment, in terms of strength – material safety. From the porosity of the material we can deduct the strength, but unfortunately, for each material manufacturer the relation “porosity – strength” is different. Therefore, ask for a period of safe use of the canopy.

Average life of long bottom lines?
Each diameter, type, lines material, and glider geometry have some different characteristics. Ask for an hourly life with average use (without towing on a winch, motor flying or acrobatics training) in a common Czech environment.

Set price and replacement of long bottom lines?
After a while, the long lines have to be replaced. Ask how much you can replace all long lines – the price of the material and the work together.

Average life of the upper lane galery?
Each diameter, type, lines material, and glider geometry have some different characteristics. Ask for an hourly life with average use (without towing on a winch, motor flying or acrobatics training) in a common Czech environment.

Set price and replacement of the upper lane gallery?
After a while, the upper lane gallery have to be replaced. Ask how much you can replace all lines – the price of the material and the work together.

How old is the glider from production?
How many years have passed since you bought the glider. We estimate that each glider loses 5% of its annual cost only by moral aging. Otherwise, a 20-year-old glider would no longer be bought today.

How many hours has the canopy flown?
This is a basic item for glider pricing. Someone remembers it, another writes it. By mid June 2017, we will have this parameter in the standard El Speedo version of SKY DROP. If you are already the owner of SKY DROP, you will be able to download new software.

How many hours have you trained with him in a harsher environment (sand, snow, high temperature, frost)?
This is just your courtesy, we expect a double speed of wear during training in a harsher environment.

How many hours have long long lines drawn from buying a new glider or from a replacement?
If you’ve ever changed a set of lines for any reason, you need to give the current raid on these lines

How many hours have the lines in the top gallery to buy from a new glider or from a replacement?
If you’ve ever changed a set of lines for any reason, you need to give the current raid on these lines.

How do you rate your carry about the glider by a number of -5 to 5 (5-best, -5-bad)?
So it’s clear how you treat glider, how you pack it, whether you sleep on it occasionally, how you store it, how humidity, temperature, and so on.

How to care for El Speedo equipment?

The safe use of the glider is highly dependent on regular service and maintenance.

With careful handling and storage, your glider can well serve for many years. On the contrary, neglecting maintenance, poor storage and use of inappropriate detergents, the life of your paragliding equipment can significantly reduce or even make potentially dangerous paragliding equipment.

To maximize the lifetime of El Speedo parachutes, follow these guidelines:

– Start from such places to prevent them from catching the canopy or lines. This unnecessarily increases the possibility of damage to lines, ties or canopy. When preparing to start or pack the canopy, do not crash on the lines.

– After landing do not let the canopy jump forward over the pilot to the leading edge. Pressure shock can cause serious damage inside the canopy.

– Do not make any nodes on the lines to damage the fibers inside the lines.

– Try to manipulate the glider in order to avoid unnecessary mechanical strain. Pulling on any sharp surface significantly reduces the lifespan of the canopy.

– Do not expose the glider to solar UV radiation unnecessarily. Long parawaiting g at the start-up landing with a split glider reduces the life of your gear. Likewise, the material is destroyed by moisture storage. It degrades the stiffness of the coating both from the outside and from the inside, threatening to attack molds. Do not stand in direct sunlight.

– Make sure that your glider is not stored or transported in temperatures higher than 50 ° C.

– Avoid contact of paragliding equipment with sea water. If this happens, wash the equipment thoroughly thoroughly with fresh water.

– Use the inner protective bag for backpacking.
